About

Dai Nakamura is a monochrome fine art photographer based in Yokohama, Japan.
Born in Hokkaido in 1970, he received his BFA from the Rhode Island School of Design in 1997, and spent the following two years in New York as an assistant and printer to Hiroshi Sugimoto, working on his Seascapes, Theaters, and Dioramas series.
His work has been placed in the permanent collections of major institutions through Tepper Takayama Fine Arts, Boston. He has exhibited at OK Harris Works of Art and, as an associate member, at Soho Photo Gallery, New York.
