Photographed in Astoria, Queens, New York, this series documents the vital world of a neighborhood bar where immigrants, laborers, and locals gather after long shifts. Around the pool table and at the counter, ambition softens and time finds its true rhythm. I was not an outside observer — I played, waited, and watched until the camera became another presence breathing in sync with the life around it.
